My first eBay transaction

Yesterday, I have made my first eBay transaction. I bought CGR-S001 DMW-BCA7 Battery for my Panasonic Lumix FX5. It was cost about AUD35.98 for two pcs replacement battery. Initally, I have doubt to do this transaction due to I was not sure who is the seller. My past transactions using internet banking involved parties that I knew, I can put trust on them like airlines, airticket agent, voip provider or domain registrar.

After I read "testimonials" from eBayers to the seller, finally I decided to take the risk to start "my busineess" in eBay. No risk no fun :). Just to protect my self, I used Paypal for the transaction which is linked to my Mastercard debit ( I don't have MC credit card you know, its very expensive to get in Singapore for foreigner like me :). Usually I will not put much money in the account I linked to my debit card. As long as it is enough to do the transaction :).

Now, I am waiting for the articles I ordered. Hopefully in next two week, it can be delivered to my address.

So, maybe here some tips to start internet transaction :
1. Create your Paypal account. I prefer to use this service than directly type in our card number in their website (although the website is https:// or with SSL.
2. Link your Paypal account with your debit/credit card and DO verification to this card. With this verification, you can do the transactions easier in the future.
3. Check in the website you are buying, whether the website provides Paypal or not. It's up to you, but as I mentioned earlier, I prefer to use Paypal.
4. Don't type your credit card number unless you trust to whom and how the information will be sent.
5. Get more information in the net how to avoid phising, fraud, and other crimes about credit card.

Update 05012006 :
Today I just received the items I ordered before. So it took less than two weeks from my order date. It was fater than I imagine before. I received good product and relatively cheap price. Definitely satisfied :)
